Founded in 1987, Käserei (“the cheese dairy”) Tufertschwil is a family-owned business managed by award-winning cheesemaker, Walter Räss Jr. Operated by Räss, his wife, and one part-time employee, the dairy produces no more than 60 wheels per day. In keeping with the family’s dedication to simple yet exceptional products, Tufertschwil currently produces only two cheeses, Chällerhocker and Tufertschwiler, which are sold halfway around the world.
